Denpasar — Bali’s Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) forecast cloudy conditions across Bali on Sunday, Nov. 8, 2026, with moderate to heavy rain possible in Tabanan and Buleleng from 08:00 WITA (UTC+8) that day until 08:00 WITA on Monday, Nov. 9.
The same forecast put waves in the waters south of Bali at up to 2.5 metres. The conditions could affect maritime activity, including ferry operations, although the report did not announce a closure or suspension of services.
Why the forecast matters for travellers
For visitors moving between Bali and nearby islands, the warning means that weather and sea conditions may vary by destination. Rain in Tabanan and Buleleng can affect road journeys and outdoor plans, while elevated waves in southern waters create a separate concern for people travelling by ferry or other vessels.
The forecast covered a defined 24-hour period rather than the entire month. BMKG is Indonesia’s national weather agency; its warning identified Tabanan and Buleleng as the two regencies facing the moderate-to-heavy rain risk during the stated window.
Southern Bali waters could see waves ranging from 0.5 to 2.5 metres, with risks for small boats and ferries under specified wind and wave conditions. Ferry services had not been cancelled.
