Denpasar heritage revamp remains on track for mid-December 2026

DetikBali reported on 16 September that work was visible along Jalan MH Thamrin, at the entrance to Jalan Gajah Mada and around the Catur Muka area, where crews were improving sidewalks, drainage and paving. A separate Radar Bali report said the first phase of the project is under contract and scheduled to finish on 18 December 2026.

The same Radar Bali report said the city government has budgeted Rp79.5 billion for the first phase, covering Jalan Gajah Mada, Simpang Catur Muka, Simpang Suci and Jalan M. Thamrin. DetikBali’s report did not state a project budget, but it likewise described work in the same central Denpasar corridor.

Officials quoted in the reports said the project is aimed at strengthening the city’s heritage character, including pedestrian improvements, road surfacing and roadside features.
