Jalan Nakula — Heavy rain triggered a landslide that damaged a road retaining structure on Friday, October 30, 2026, at about 8 p.m. local time in Banjar Munduk Anggrek, Yehembang Kauh, Mendoyo, Jembrana, according to Bali Post and DenPost.
Why it matters: Local road users face a marked hazard at the damaged section while police tape and water barriers remain in place and permanent repairs require inter-agency coordination.
The retaining structure was about 12 metres long, 3 metres wide and 20 metres deep. The damage was estimated to have caused material losses of about 10 million rupiah, the reports said.
No deaths or injuries were reported. The damaged structure was considered a risk to road users and could allow damage to the road surface to spread, according to the reports.
The Jembrana Regional Disaster Management Agency led an initial assessment and emergency response with the Mendoyo subdistrict administration and local personnel. Work at the site began at 10:13 p.m. and ended at about 11:30 p.m. on Friday, the reports said.
Officials installed police tape and water barriers around the damaged section to warn road users and restrict access to the hazardous area. The barriers were to remain in place while officials monitored the road.
Jembrana disaster agency chief I Putu Agus Artana Putra said permanent repairs required coordination with relevant agencies to prevent further damage and reduce the risk of another landslide, according to the reports.
