Negara — The Jembrana administration will dissolve Perusahaan Umum Daerah Tribhuwana after an investment review and an analysis by a public accounting firm found that the regional company was no longer economically efficient. The decision was presented during a plenary meeting at the Jembrana Regional House of Representatives on Nov. 3, 2026.
The company received an initial regional capital contribution of Rp5 billion (about US$320,000). Before the liquidation is finalized, the administration says Tribhuwana’s assets, transactions and liabilities will be traced and comprehensively verified. The process is intended to protect regional finances and limit the risk of larger losses.
Why the Tribhuwana liquidation matters
For residents and businesses dealing with the company, the decision means that its obligations will not simply disappear with the dissolution. Jembrana said the rights of employees and directors, along with obligations to third parties, will be addressed according to the results of the inventory and verification process.
As of Aug. 31, 2025, Tribhuwana’s total assets were recorded at Rp2,506 billion (about US$160.4 million), including Rp2,300 billion (about US$147.2 million) in cash and cash equivalents. Once the liquidator team settles outstanding obligations, the remaining liquidation proceeds will be returned to the regional treasury.
The administration also said the remaining assets could be used for productive programs, including support for micro, small and medium enterprises and the strengthening of the local economy. If the review identifies irregularities, officials said they will follow up under the applicable rules.
The dissolution follows the Jembrana government’s consideration of the company’s financial condition and economic performance. The administration has said the liquidation will be conducted transparently and accountably, while the verification of assets, transactions and liabilities proceeds before the process is completed.
