Police Question Witnesses in SDN 3 Antiga Kelod Vandalism Case

Amlapura — Police in Manggis, Karangasem, have questioned four witnesses in the investigation into vandalism at SDN 3 Antiga Kelod and say they have gathered leads they are still checking against witness testimony and evidence from the scene, according to Balipost and Detik. The school damage was first reported on Sept. 2, 2026, and police said the case remained under investigation.

Kompol I Made Suadnyana, head of the Manggis Police Sector, said investigators were comparing witness accounts with findings from the site before deciding who should be held responsible, Balipost reported. The witnesses included school staff and alumni who were familiar with the area around the school.

Detik reported earlier in the case that police had examined six witnesses, including teachers and alumni, and that the lack of CCTV at the location made identification more difficult. Detik also reported that the vandalism affected the school’s classroom and teacher areas, with eight laptops damaged and estimated losses of around Rp50 million.

Investigation continues

Police have not publicly named a suspect or announced an arrest. According to the reports, officers were still looking for additional people in the area who might have information about the incident.

Learning activities at the school were continuing while the police investigation proceeded, Balipost reported. The report said officers were providing security support at SDN 3 Antiga Kelod so teachers and students could resume normal activities.

The case has drawn attention in Karangasem because the damage involved a state elementary school in Manggis district. Police said they were still verifying the leads before taking the next step in the inquiry.
