Singaraja — Singaraja recorded year-on-year inflation of 3.61% in August 2026, the second-highest among Bali’s consumer price index areas and only slightly below Denpasar’s 3.64%, according to data from BPS Kabupaten Buleleng and BPS Bali cited by local media and provincial authorities.

Denpasar posted the province’s highest annual inflation rate at 3.64%, while Badung recorded the lowest at 2.86%. The figures indicate that Singaraja experienced almost the same pace of annual price increases as the provincial capital in August.

According to the official statistics release referenced by RRI and provincial economic reports, Singaraja’s consumer price index rose from 108.89 in August 2025 to 112.82 in August 2026. Year-on-year inflation reached 3.61%, with monthly inflation at 1.12% and cumulative inflation from January to August at 2.19%.

Key data: Annual inflation: 3.61%; Monthly inflation: 1.12%; Year-to-date inflation: 2.19%; CPI: 108.89 in August 2025 and 112.82 in August 2026.

Food and services lead contributors

BPS Kabupaten Buleleng reported that prices rose across 10 of the 11 household expenditure groups tracked in Singaraja, with only the recreation, sport and culture group recording annual deflation.

Data cited by RRI show that the recreation, sport and culture group fell 0.43% year on year, slightly dampening overall inflation.

The food, beverages and tobacco group recorded annual inflation of 4.23% and made the largest contribution to Singaraja’s headline rate, adding 1.46 percentage points to the 3.61% overall figure, according to the same release.

Transport contributed 0.55 percentage points to annual inflation, followed by food and beverage services at 0.49 percentage points, personal care and other services at 0.48 points, and housing, water, electricity and household fuel at 0.39 points.

By annual rate, food and beverage services showed the sharpest increase, with inflation of about 5.93%. Personal care and other services followed at around 5.32%, with transport at about 5.04%, based on BPS data quoted in local media.

The pattern indicates that both goods and services contributed to higher prices in Singaraja, with food-related categories and service sectors playing a central role. The available public data are grouped by expenditure category and do not provide a full item-level breakdown of specific products or tariffs.

Context within Bali

BPS Kabupaten Buleleng’s August series shows that Singaraja’s annual inflation has accelerated over the past three years. The rate stood at 1.69% in August 2024, rose to 2.71% in August 2025 and reached 3.61% in August 2026, according to figures cited by RRI.

Provincial economic updates referencing a 1 September 2026 BPS Bali release note that Buleleng, with Singaraja as its CPI city, recorded the highest monthly inflation in Bali in August at 1.12%, and annual inflation of 3.61%. Denpasar’s annual rate was 3.64%, marginally above Singaraja’s, while Badung’s annual inflation was 2.86%. Tabanan recorded annual inflation of 3.59%, below Singaraja but still among the higher readings in the province.

Officials have pointed out that Denpasar, Singaraja and Tabanan have all exceeded the upper bound of the national inflation target range, underscoring pressure from food prices and service costs and the need for stronger local inflation control measures.
