Tegallalang Sells 100 Subsidised LPG Cylinders Amid Local Shortage

Tegallalang, Gianyar — — Authorities in Tegallalang distributed 100 subsidised 3‑kilogram LPG cylinders to local residents on Wednesday, 16 September 2026, in a market operation aimed at easing a reported shortage and supporting price stability in Gianyar Regency, according to the Gianyar industry and trade office and local media.
The sale took place at the parking area of the Tegallalang District public field, with all 100 cylinders purchased by residents during the operation, according to reports from a regional newspaper and public broadcaster.
Price, quota and purchase rules
Officials sold the LPG cylinders at Rp18,000 per unit, in line with the highest retail price set for 3‑kilogram LPG under Bali Governor Regulation No. 63 of 2022, according to the Gianyar industry and trade office.
Each household was limited to one cylinder to broaden access among residents. The total allocation for the Tegallalang operation was 100 cylinders of 3 kilograms each, supplied in cooperation with several LPG agents, local reports said.
The head of Tegallalang village, Anak Agung Gede Raka Ardana, said buyers were required to show an electronic identity card (e‑KTP) before purchasing the subsidised fuel, according to the regional newspaper.
Staff then verified prospective buyers via the MyPertamina Subsidy Tepat application, known in Indonesia as MyPertamina Subsidi Tepat, to ensure the subsidised LPG was delivered to eligible recipients, according to the Gianyar industry and trade office and local media coverage.
Security and crowd management
Security and crowd control at the Tegallalang operation were handled by local military and police personnel.
Reports from the public broadcaster identified the officers as Sertu I Gusti Putu Arbajaya, a Tegallalang Babinsa (village-level military adviser), and Aiptu I Dewa Made Sandat, the Tegallalang village police officer, who supervised the queue and purchase process to ensure orderly distribution and compliance with the one‑cylinder rule.
Reasons for the market operation
The Gianyar Regency Industry and Trade Office organised the Tegallalang LPG market operation after residents reported difficulty obtaining subsidised 3‑kilogram LPG in recent weeks.
The office said the measure was intended both to address the limited supply of subsidised LPG and to help contain the impact of regional inflation in Gianyar, according to the regional newspaper.
According to the public broadcaster, the operation was implemented by the Gianyar industry and trade office in cooperation with LPG distributors PT Gangga Sukses Makmur and PT Gita Selaras, alongside village authorities and territorial security officers.
Wider LPG context in Gianyar and Bali
The Tegallalang operation is one of several targeted LPG interventions reported in Gianyar Regency in mid‑September 2026, with similar 100‑cylinder, Rp18,000‑per‑unit distributions conducted in other villages to address complaints of scarce subsidised LPG.
Local media have also reported broader shortages of 3‑kilogram LPG — known locally as “gas melon” — in parts of Bali in August and September 2026, prompting extra deliveries and market operations by regional governments and Pertamina in multiple regencies.
Authorities in Gianyar have said such market operations are intended as temporary measures to stabilise supply and prices while regular distribution through retailers is adjusted to meet demand.
