Ubud — Ashva Swiss-Belresort Ubud has officially opened in Tegallalang following a soft-opening period that began in July 2026, with a grand opening ceremony held on Saturday, 5 September 2026 according to Media Indonesia and local coverage.

The five-star resort is located on Jalan Raya Gentong in Tegallalang, Gianyar, overlooking rice fields and valley scenery. It offers a total of 94 accommodation units, comprising 90 guestrooms and suites and four exclusive wooden pavilions, according to Swiss-Belhotel International’s soft-opening announcement and supporting hotel information.

Accommodation sizes range from about 40 square metres to 106 square metres, catering to families and groups. Swiss-Belhotel International states that select premium rooms and suites feature private heated plunge pools, smart in-room technology and energy-efficient systems. A LinkedIn post from the group notes that 19 rooms are equipped with private heated plunge pools and smart in-room technology.

Sudharman Shetty, president director of PT Ratna Forever Hospitality, the resort’s owning company, said after the soft-opening phase that all facilities were ready and the team was prepared to welcome guests with diverse needs, emphasising that the resort is designed for multigenerational families and wellness-oriented travellers, according to NusaBali and Media Indonesia.

Facilities and positioning

Swiss-Belhotel International’s soft-opening release describes a tiered terraced swimming pool with cascading water elements as a central feature of the resort, complemented by the Petanu Pool Bar. The resort also offers a private bridge leading to the surrounding rice fields.

Dining options include Udupi Indian Restaurant, which focuses on Indian cuisine and offers vegetarian dishes from a dedicated kitchen, and Giwangkara All Day Dining serving international and local dishes, according to the group’s announcement. These facilities align with local media descriptions of the resort’s food and beverage offering.

For meetings, incentives, conferences and wedding events, Media Indonesia reports that the property provides indoor and outdoor event spaces, including the D’vimala Grand Ballroom. The ballroom is positioned to serve corporate gatherings and social functions, although detailed capacity figures are not specified in the available sources.

Target markets and Bali portfolio

The resort is marketed around the concept “Where Every Generation Finds Its Joy,” aiming to attract multigenerational family groups as well as wellness travellers and corporate guests, according to Swiss-Belhotel International and Nusantara Jaya News. The property is described as a contemporary yet culturally rooted resort in one of Bali’s key nature and culture destinations.

Swiss-Belhotel International notes that the opening of Ashva Swiss-Belresort Ubud represents its 10th operating property in Bali and its second hotel in Ubud, reinforcing the group’s expansion strategy in Indonesia’s premium hospitality segment. Chairman and president Gavin M. Faull highlighted during the grand opening press event that Indonesia remains a major source of business for the company, with a significant number of hotels across the country.

Local reports state that the grand opening ceremony in Tegallalang was attended by representatives from government, tourism and hospitality sectors, including officials from Gianyar Regency and the Ambassador of India to Indonesia, reflecting the resort’s regional and international positioning.

The grand opening follows several weeks of soft-opening operations in July and August 2026, during which Swiss-Belhotel International promoted introductory rates ahead of the full launch in September. With all facilities now operational, the resort adds new upscale capacity to the Ubud–Tegallalang area at a time of ongoing investment in Bali’s tourism infrastructure.
