Bali committee prepares spatial-planning and licensing recommendations before 6 October

Denpasar — Bali’s provincial legislature’s Special Committee on Spatial Planning, Assets and Licensing is finalising its recommendations ahead of the end of its mandate on 6 October 2026, according to reports published on 29 and 30 September.

Why it matters: The recommendations will be submitted to Bali’s legislature and may guide follow-up by provincial and local governments on spatial planning, public assets and licensing.

The committee will submit the final recommendations to the Bali Regional House of Representatives leadership before they are discussed in a plenary meeting, Bali Post and Tribun Bali reported. The committee’s mandate will not be extended beyond the 6 October deadline.

Deputy secretary Dr Somvir said the committee was completing recommendations that had not yet been submitted. The final document is to undergo internal discussion before being presented to the plenary meeting.

The committee, known as Pansus TRAP, was established to oversee enforcement of rules concerning spatial planning, regional assets and business licensing in Bali. After its mandate ends, follow-up on the recommendations will rest with the provincial and local governments according to their respective authority, the reports said.

What happens next

The committee is expected to complete its internal formulation of the recommendations, submit them to the legislature’s leadership and bring them to a plenary meeting before its mandate expires. The reports did not identify a separate date for that plenary meeting.
