Bali — Bali’s provincial government will begin operating 11 electric buses on the Trans Sarbagita Corridor I route on 9 November 2026, connecting GOR Ngurah Rai with Garuda Wisnu Kencana (GWK), according to the Bali Transportation Agency.
Why it matters: From 9 November 2026, passengers on the GOR Ngurah Rai–GWK route can use the trial service free, while electronic-card taps will record usage.
The service will be free during the trial, but passengers must still tap an electronic-money card when boarding. The Bali Transportation Agency will use the recorded taps to measure passenger numbers, Bali Post reported on 8 November.
The buses generally follow the existing Corridor I route, with adjustments through central Denpasar. From GOR Ngurah Rai, the service will pass Jalan Melati, Jalan Hayam Wuruk, the Renon roundabout, Jalan Raya Puputan and Jalan Sudirman before rejoining the regular route to GWK, according to VOI.
All 11 buses will be tested, but 10 will operate each day while one remains available as a rotating reserve for vehicles requiring maintenance or other attention. The trial is planned to continue until the end of December 2026, Bali Post reported.
The fleet was launched in October as part of Bali’s first electric public-transportation deployment. The Global Green Growth Institute said the buses will serve Corridor I on a 53-kilometre round trip with 56 stops, connecting GOR Ngurah Rai and GWK via Udayana University.
