Bali’s economy grew 5.82% in 2025, according to Bank Indonesia, while the province’s improving labour market was supported by new jobs in transport, accommodation and food services, trade and construction. For investors and employers, the figures show growth extending beyond tourism alone, but they do not by themselves measure the quality or permanence of each job.

How fast did Bali’s economy grow?

Bali’s economy expanded 5.82% year on year in 2025, compared with 5.48% in 2024, according to Bank Indonesia’s February 2026 provincial economic report. The same report said the economy grew 5.86% year on year in the fourth quarter of 2025.

Did economic growth translate into more jobs?

Bank Indonesia said Bali’s open unemployment rate had continued to improve from February 2021 through November 2025. It linked that trend to new employment across several business sectors, rather than to one industry alone.

Which sectors added the most workers?

The largest increases in employment were recorded in transportation, accommodation and food services, trade, and construction, according to Bank Indonesia’s February 2026 report. These sectors connect tourism demand with logistics, retail activity, building and property-related work.

What does this mean for businesses and investors?

The data indicate that Bali’s economic expansion has been accompanied by labour absorption in tourism-linked and supporting sectors. However, the figures reported by Bank Indonesia do not establish how many jobs are formal, how much they pay or how long they last.

What is the outlook for 2026?

Bank Indonesia projected Bali’s 2026 economic growth in a range of 5.4% to 6.2% year on year in its February 2026 report. The projection is a forecast, not a recorded result, and should be read separately from the confirmed 2025 growth figure.
