Indian arrivals via Ngurah Rai average about 1,415 per day in September

Badung — The Ngurah Rai Immigration Office reports that arrivals of Indian citizens via Bali’s main airport have risen in September 2026, with average daily entries reaching around 1,415 people based on immigration crossings data up to 17 September 2026.

Why it matters: The rise in Indian arrivals to around 1,415 per day in September 2026 and India’s move into second place among source markets may shape flight schedules, hotel demand and services targeting Indian visitors.

According to the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, the September daily average is higher than in August 2026, when arrivals from India averaged about 1,162 people per day.

The immigration office’s spokesperson, identified in local coverage as Ferry, said the trend for Indian foreign nationals entering Bali through Ngurah Rai showed an increase between August and September 2026.

Immigration data also indicate that, despite the month-on-month rise, total arrivals of Indian citizens in the August–September 2026 period remain below the same months in 2025.

For August–September 2025, Ngurah Rai Immigration recorded 84,537 arrivals of Indian foreign nationals via the airport.

In the comparable period of 2026, up to the data update on 17 September, the office logged 60,087 Indian arrivals, meaning the total for those two months was lower than the previous year.

The Ngurah Rai Immigration Office noted that India nonetheless continues to be among the leading source countries for foreign arrivals through the airport.

By mid-September 2026, immigration figures show Australia in first place with 92,200 foreign nationals arriving via Ngurah Rai.

In the same data set, India moved into second position with 24,063 arrivals, followed by China with 23,625 people entering through the airport.

The immigration spokesperson said that in August 2026 arrivals from India were not yet among the top three source countries via Ngurah Rai.

By September, however, India had reached second place in the ranking of foreign arrivals through the airport based on figures recorded up to mid-month.

Separate data from the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, reported in late August 2026, show that India is already one of Bali’s largest foreign visitor markets over the year to date.

Up to July 2026, immigration statistics cited in national media put arrivals from India at 327,000 people via Ngurah Rai, after Australia and China, for the January–July 2026 period.

Earlier first-quarter 2026 immigration data also listed India in third place by arrivals through Ngurah Rai, with 121,390 Indian citizens recorded entering Bali between January and March 2026.

The latest September figures from Ngurah Rai Immigration therefore confirm India’s position as a major and growing source market for Bali, with rising daily arrivals and a move into second place among foreign visitors entering the island by air.
