Tabanan — Jatiluwih’s operator reported 730 visitors on Oct. 16, after visitor numbers fell by 30 percent amid fuel-station queues and traffic disruption in Bali.
The latest figure was recorded as the rice-terrace destination continued to experience uneven arrivals following the start of the decline on Oct. 11. The operator said the count combined foreign and domestic visitors, while most travelers reached Jatiluwih by four-wheeled vehicles.
Why the fuel queues matter to Jatiluwih visitors
For visitors, the disruption meant that road conditions around fuel stations could affect trips to the destination, particularly for those traveling by car. The reported figures do not indicate that Jatiluwih closed; they show a sharp fluctuation in daily arrivals while fuel shortages and queues affected traffic across Bali.
Operator data showed 1,130 visitors on Oct. 11, followed by 695 on Oct. 12 and 529 on Oct. 13. Arrivals then rose to 751 on Oct. 14, fell to 562 on Oct. 15 and increased to 730 on Oct. 16. The operator attributed the broader decline to fuel scarcity and long lines at stations, saying the conditions appeared to influence visitation.
The report said the operator hoped fuel supplies would be restored, reducing queues and allowing traffic to return to normal. No reopening or closure timetable was reported.
