Klungkung Allocates Rp370 Million for Nusa Penida Mass Ngaben Rites

Klungkung — Klungkung Regent I Made Satria has allocated a total of Rp370 million in stimulus assistance to three adat communities in Nusa Penida to support village-based mass Pitra Yadnya cremation ceremonies scheduled for 17 and 20 August 2026, according to the regency’s public information service and local media reports.

The assistance is described as stimulan sesajen Pitra Yadnya, or support for ceremonial offerings linked to mass ngaben rites conducted collectively by customary communities. The recipients are Desa Adat Mastulan, Banjar Adat Tulad within Desa Adat Tri Wahana Darma, and Desa Adat Sakti.

According to the Klungkung regency information portal, the allocations and peak ceremony dates are as follows:

• Desa Adat Mastulan: Rp150 million; peak ceremony on Monday, 17 August 2026.

Regent highlights cultural preservation and community solidarity

The Klungkung public information service reports that Satria handed over the assistance in Nusa Penida on Saturday, 15 August 2026, accompanied by his wife, Eva Satria, and officials from the regency government. On the same day as the assistance distribution in Nusa Penida, Satria and his wife also visited the bereaved family of Jro Mangku Dalang I Nyoman Usana in Desa Lembongan, offering condolences at the family home, according to the regency information service.
