Mandalika — The fifth Mandalika International Festival has been rescheduled from 22–25 October 2026 to 10–13 December 2026, according to reporting cited by HubLombok and RRI. Both reports say the organisers moved the event under a safety-driven contingency plan described as Plan B.
The revised timing places the festival in the final weeks of the year in West Nusa Tenggara, with organisers framing the change as a precautionary step for participants and visitors. RRI said the postponement was made as a mitigation measure to ensure the safety of delegates, participants and other parties involved.
What changed
HubLombok reported that the festival’s original dates were 22–25 October 2026 and that the new schedule is 10–13 December 2026. RRI independently reported the same revised dates and said the event was delayed from October to December because of natural-disaster risk concerns.
The change was tied to a contingency arrangement called Plan B, according to both reports. RRI described the postponement as a strategic decision to reduce risk and protect those attending the event.
Both reports identify the event as the fifth edition of the Mandalika International Festival and place it in the Mandalika area of South Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.
Travel and tourism impact
The shift matters for visitors, businesses and accommodation providers planning around Mandalika’s year-end tourism calendar. Travellers who had arranged October visits around the festival will now need to align their plans with the December dates.
Neither report provides a revised daily programme, ticket policy or updated participant list. They also do not specify which hazard triggered the rescheduling beyond the broader safety and disaster-risk rationale.
For tourism operators in South Lombok, the change could alter booking patterns in the shoulder period before the December holiday season. The two reports do not give occupancy figures, visitor estimates or any official economic assessment of the rescheduling.
Key dates: Original schedule: 22–25 October 2026. Revised schedule: 10–13 December 2026.
