Ngurah Rai Airport to Run Three-Scenario Emergency Drill on 23 September

Denpasar — I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali will carry out a full-scale Airport Emergency Exercise on Wednesday, 23 September 2026, testing three major scenarios: a building fire, an airport security incident and an aircraft accident, according to statements from airport management reported by Indonesian and local media.

The drill is designed to closely resemble real emergency conditions in order to assess the readiness of personnel, the effectiveness of the Airport Emergency Plan and standard operating procedures, and coordination among agencies operating at the airport, according to coverage of the exercise plan.

Airport officials quoted in those reports say the exercise will not disrupt flight schedules, with normal operations expected to continue while the scenarios are conducted.

Three emergency scenarios
