Denpasar — The RBC Bali Open 2026 drew 128 players, including about 70 from abroad, during a four-day tournament held from Oct. 6 to Oct. 9 at RBC Billiard & Cafe in Denpasar. The event offered a total prize pool of Rp598 million (about US$37,000), with Rp200 million (about US$12,400) awarded to the winner.

The tournament brought together local, national and international competitors, including players ranked among the world’s top 12. Participants came from countries including Argentina, Russia, the Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Laos, Canada and Thailand. The competition was organized as a full open 9-ball event and marked Bali’s first hosting of a tournament in that format.

Why Rp598 million (about US$37,000) and 70 overseas players matter

For Bali residents and visitors, the tournament placed Denpasar in an international sporting context rather than presenting the island only as a leisure destination. Foreign players accounted for 70 of the 128 competitors, giving local athletes the opportunity to face established international opponents on home ground.

The prize structure extended beyond the champion. The runner-up received Rp100 million (about US$6,200), semifinalists received Rp35 million (about US$2,200), and players reaching later stages were also awarded according to category. Matches began with the Last 128 round using a Race to 8 format, followed by later rounds using longer race formats. The semifinals and final used Race to 11.

The event was supported by RBC funding. Organizers said the tournament was planned to return the following year, with the possibility of a larger total prize pool. That would give Bali another international competition while providing Indonesian players with a recurring measure of their performance against overseas opponents.
