Denpasar — Southern Bali waters were forecast to have waves ranging from 0,5 to 3,5 metres on Oct. 10, 2026, while northern waters were expected to see waves of about 0,5 to 1,5 metres.
The forecast also warned of waves reaching 2 metres or more in the southern Bali Strait, the Badung Strait and the Lombok Strait. The conditions applied to coastal and marine activity around Bali, including areas near Benoa.
Why the forecast matters to Bali visitors
The higher waves matter to visitors using ferries, tourist boats or other marine services. Fishermen, ferry operators, tour-boat operators and tourists planning marine activities should pay attention to changing weather and sea conditions.
Bali’s general weather was partly cloudy, with winds from the east to southeast. The wider marine outlook showed the most significant wave range in the waters south of Bali, while northern waters had a lower forecast range.
For travellers, the practical distinction is location: conditions may differ sharply between northern and southern waters and among the Bali, Badung and Lombok straits. Benoa was among the Bali maritime areas covered, although the central warning concerned the broader sea areas and straits.
The forecast was for Oct. 10, 2026.
