Seminyak — Jalan Kunti II will close to general traffic each night from 22:00 to 06:00 WITA (UTC+8) from Oct. 1 through Nov. 1, 2026, while workers raise the road and build drainage infrastructure, according to NusaBali and detikBali.
The change comes as authorities address recurring flooding along the road, which links the Seminyak area with parts of Denpasar and Badung. NusaBali reported that the work is being carried out by the Badung Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency. DetikBali separately reported that the closure is connected to excavation by a Badung regency government agency.
For foreign residents and visitors, the restriction means that cars, motorcycles and other general road users cannot use the closed section during the stated overnight hours. The closure concerns Jalan Kunti II, while traffic arrangements and alternative routes apply around the surrounding roads. NusaBali reported that access from Jalan Tangkuban Perahu toward Jalan Bidadari would be limited to motorcycles during the closure.
Why the closure matters to people staying in Seminyak
Seminyak has villas, shops and other businesses whose nighttime access can depend on nearby roads. The overnight schedule limits the disruption to daytime traffic, but journeys involving Jalan Kunti II may take longer or require a different route between Seminyak, Denpasar and Badung. The affected road section runs from Simpang Empat Yudistira to the boundary with Gunung Athena, NusaBali reported.
The project is intended to address flooding that has repeatedly affected Jalan Kunti II. Earlier reporting by detikBali described the road as a recurring flood point and said Badung officials were considering raising its surface because it sat lower than a nearby irrigation channel. The current works combine road raising with drainage construction.
DetikBali reported that the closure and traffic diversion were planned for one month, from Oct. 1 to Nov. 1, 2026. NusaBali reported that the first night of closure passed safely and that limited filling work continued until about 03:00 WITA. The temporary closure is scheduled to end Nov. 1, 2026.
