Denpasar — Bali Governor Wayan Koster handed over corporate social responsibility support from The St. Regis Bali Resort Nusa Dua Group to traditional-art groups, customary communities and temple managers on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026. The symbolic handover took place at Jaya Sabha in Denpasar.

The support was directed to customary activities, traditional arts and cultural preservation at the village and community level. Recipients included groups and temple managers in Buleleng, among them Br. Adat Bukit Seni in Sembiran Village, Sekehe Angklung Genta Kencana in Bengkel Village, Busungbiu Subdistrict, and Sekaa Baris Buleleng in Pacung Customary Village, Tejakula Subdistrict.

The grants support Bali’s customary and cultural institutions

For foreign residents and visitors, the announcement illustrates how cultural preservation in Bali is organized through customary communities, arts groups and temple managers, rather than only through formal government institutions. The assistance is intended to support local activities and the preservation of traditional culture in the communities receiving it.

Other recipients included the uniform-procurement group Karang Wreda Samirana Santhi in Sembiran Village and Sekaa Gambuh in Pacung Customary Village, Buleleng. The assistance varied according to each recipient’s needs and purpose, ranging from Rp50 million (about US$3,333) to Rp350 million (about US$23,333).

Koster expressed appreciation to St. Regis for supporting arts groups and customary communities. He said the assistance represented trust in efforts to preserve Balinese customs, traditional arts and culture, and asked recipients to use it responsibly and for its stated purpose. The program was described as collaboration among business, government and community groups to sustain Balinese traditional arts.
