Banjar Dinas Tukad Juwuk — Two men died after the motorcycle they were travelling on crashed into a tree in Selat village, Sukasada, Buleleng, on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, police said.

Why it matters: The crash resulted in two deaths and is being investigated by the Sukasada traffic unit.

The crash occurred at about 2 p.m. on a steep downhill section of the village road, according to Buleleng Police spokesperson Iptu Yohana Rosalin Diaz. The motorcycle was travelling north from the south when it allegedly developed a braking problem, veered and hit a large tree.

The victims were identified as Lilik Prianto, 47, the rider, and Faisal Syachori, 47, the passenger. Bali Post and NusaBali reported that both suffered bleeding from the nose and ears and were declared dead after the crash.

Police said the two men were taken to Parama Sidhi Hospital in Singaraja, where doctors confirmed their deaths. The reports differ on whether the victims died at the scene or after being taken to hospital; both confirm the fatalities.

The crash involved a Honda Vario motorcycle with registration number DK 5491 FAY, according to NusaBali and detikBali. Police said the motorcycle was damaged at the front.

Buleleng Police said the initial suspicion was that the motorcycle's brakes did not function normally while descending the steep road. Investigators are also examining whether the rider misjudged the road conditions and whether the vehicle was roadworthy.

The Sukasada traffic unit is handling the investigation, while police have placed a line around the crash site, Bali Post reported.
