Denpasar — Bali Police held a security-readiness assembly on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2026, for the working visit of Selvi Ananda Gibran Rakabuming, the wife of Indonesia’s vice president, in Bali.

The assembly at the Bali Police headquarters served as a final check of personnel, equipment and operational procedures for the visit. The combined force included police officials and personnel assigned to the VVIP security operation.

The operation covered the visit’s arrival point, travel routes and activity venues. Officers were to be positioned at strategic locations, including I Gusti Ngurah Rai Air Base, transit areas and venues in Denpasar and Karangasem.

Why the security operation matters to Bali visitors

For foreign residents and visitors, the operation means that movement along parts of the delegation’s route could be affected temporarily. Bali Police said situational traffic management would be applied on several roads used by the entourage and asked the public to support a safe and orderly visit.

The visit was scheduled to include social and women’s-empowerment activities, as well as support for micro, small and medium enterprises. A separate report said Selvi Ananda was scheduled to visit traditional artisans in Tenganan, Karangasem, on Friday, Oct. 23, 2026, where she would review local crafts and support regional artisans.

The Bali Police assembly was led by Senior Commissioner Soelistijno, the police operations bureau chief. The security plan emphasized coordination between the Indonesian National Police, the Indonesian military and regional governments. The assembly ended with inspections of personnel and official vehicles.

Selvi Ananda’s scheduled Tenganan program included a departure from her hotel at 8 a.m. WITA (UTC+8) and an expected arrival in the village at 10 a.m. WITA, according to the Karangasem administration’s protocol and communications official.
