Gianyar — Gianyar Police held a formal handover for the Ubud and Tegallalang police-chief posts on Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2026, at the Tri Brata Gianyar Police parade ground. AKP Ketut Wiwin Wirahadi became chief of Ubud Police, while Iptu Ida Bagus Gede Agung Wiratama took over as chief of Tegallalang Police.
The ceremony was led by Gianyar Police Chief AKBP James I.S. Rajagukguk. Kompol I Wayan Putra Antara handed the Ubud post to AKP Ketut Wiwin Wirahadi, who in turn handed the Tegallalang post to Iptu Ida Bagus Gede Agung Wiratama.
The changes affect policing in two major tourism areas
For foreign residents and visitors, the change means that the local police leadership serving Ubud and Tegallalang has been reassigned. The reports describe the move as part of an organizational rotation intended to strengthen public protection, service and security in Gianyar’s tourism areas. It does not announce a change to visitor rules, entry requirements or local travel procedures.
The handover followed Bali Police Chief Decision No. KEP/479/IX/2026, dated Sept. 30, 2026, according to Tribun Bali. The ceremony was attended by senior Gianyar Police officials, police chiefs from other precincts, police personnel and members of the Gianyar branch of Bhayangkari, the police spouses’ organization.
Tribun Bali reported that the rotation placed AKP Ketut Wiwin Wirahadi in Ubud after his previous assignment in Tegallalang, while Iptu Ida Bagus Gede Agung Wiratama filled the Tegallalang position. Gianyar Police said the leadership change was expected to support more effective policing and faster responses to community concerns.
