Ubud hosts 2026 folklore festival with more than 250 participants

Ubud — The Nusantara International Folklore Festival will take place at Museum Puri Lukisan in Ubud, Gianyar, from Sept. 26 to Sept. 27, 2026, with more than 250 participants and the theme “Global Rhythms, Shared Stories,” according to reports and the festival’s official programme.

The change comes as the festival’s official schedule lists a broader Sept. 25–28 programme in Ubud, with performances and other activities planned across the event. The official programme identifies Sept. 26 as the opening day, including an opening ceremony and performances by local and international participants, while Sept. 27 includes further performances and a closing ceremony.

For foreign residents and visitors, the event is a cultural programme in central Ubud featuring traditional music, dance and related arts activities. The reported performance dates are Sept. 26 and Sept. 27, while the organiser’s schedule places the overall festival period from Sept. 25 through Sept. 28.
