Denpasar — Bali received Rp500 million in central-government assistance for communal sanitation facilities at an event in Denpasar on 21 October 2026, with 10 villages in four regencies named as recipients.
Why it matters: Ten villages across four Bali regencies will receive Rp50 million each for permanent communal toilets, with funds transferred to village accounts for local sanitation facilities.
The assistance was handed over by Tri Tito Karnavian, chairwoman of the Central Posyandu Development Team, to village representatives during a legal-awareness and Posyandu registration event at the Ksirarnawa Building in Denpasar, according to Bali Post.
Each village will receive Rp50 million, transferred directly to its village account for sanitation facilities based on local needs. The facilities are planned as permanent public toilets for use during village activities and by residents.
Recipient villages
The 10 villages are spread across Jembrana, Bangli, Karangasem and Buleleng regencies.
- Jembrana: Penyaringan village in Mendoyo district.
- Bangli: Belandingan, Songan A and Songan B villages in Kintamani district.
- Karangasem: Ban village in Kubu district; Jungutan and Bhuana Giri villages in Bebandem district; and Nawakerti village in Abang district.
- Buleleng: Ringdikit and Gunungsari villages in Seririt district.
Provincial officials provide information on sanitation conditions, while villages submit proposals for assessment and verification by the central government. The 10 recipients were selected through that process, Bali Post reported.
Separate reporting by NusaBali said the programme covers 10 locations nationally, with Bangli receiving three locations. A groundbreaking ceremony for one of those facilities took place in Songan A on 20 October 2026.
The provincial community and village empowerment office said similar assistance could be assessed again the following year, depending on central-government policy and evaluation.
