Negara — Satuan Polisi Pamong Praja (Satpol PP) Kabupaten Jembrana moved seven damaged Toyota Corolla cars that had been occupying the sidewalk and roadway on Jalan Udayana, Kelurahan Baler Bale Agung, Kecamatan Negara, on Tuesday, Oct. 20. The operation was reported on Wednesday, Oct. 21, after officers coordinated with the vehicles’ responsible party and a nearby business owner.

The cars had been parked there for an extended period, obstructing facilities intended for pedestrians and road users. A business owner agreed to lend parking space behind the business for temporary storage. Satpol PP said the relocation was carried out in stages, with one car towed on the day of the operation and six others to be handled through further coordination with the transportation authorities.

Why it matters to visitors and residents

The action illustrates how Indonesian public-order officers can intervene when vehicles occupy sidewalks or roadways in ways that interfere with their intended public use. For foreign residents and visitors in Negara, the practical point is that a sidewalk is treated as pedestrian infrastructure rather than ordinary long-term parking, while a roadway must remain available for traffic. The report does not describe fines or other penalties.

Jembrana’s public-order unit said the operation formed part of supervision, guidance and enforcement of public order. Its stated aim was to restore the sidewalk for pedestrians and keep the roadway usable. The report said the unit would continue coordinating so the remaining damaged vehicles occupying public facilities could be dealt with in line with the agreement.

The relocation site was arranged after officers met with the wife of the workshop owner. The temporary parking arrangement received approval, allowing the vehicles to be moved gradually. The transportation service was expected to assist with towing the remaining cars, but the reports do not give a completion date.
