Bali Police Seize Gold-Melting Equipment in Denpasar Investigation

Denpasar — Investigators from the Bali Regional Police searched Divine Gold Shop and PT Emas Now in Sumerta Kelod, Denpasar, and seized transaction documents, electronic devices, gold-melting equipment and several safes on Sept. 29, according to reports published on Sept. 30.

The investigation has entered the inquiry stage following a police report dated Sept. 11, 2026. The items were described as suspected evidence connected to an alleged fraud and/or embezzlement case involving the two businesses. Reports did not state a final charge or verdict.

Why the seizure matters to Bali’s visitors and foreign residents

For foreign residents and visitors, a police search and seizure is an investigative step, not a court finding of guilt. The affected businesses are identified as operating at the Duta Wijaya shopping complex on Jalan Raya Puputan in Sumerta Kelod, Denpasar. The investigation did not change visa rules, travel conditions or obligations for foreign nationals.

The Directorate of General Criminal Investigation, the Bali Regional Police unit responsible for serious criminal investigations, searched two floors of the premises. The seized material included transaction records, electronic equipment, gold-melting facilities and several safes. One report said investigators found a melting facility beside the director’s room, with a safe used for storage.

The search followed a complaint involving alleged fraud and/or embezzlement. Those figures describe allegations in the investigation, not a court judgment.

Police said the seized objects were suspected to be related to the case. No final indictment, conviction or acquittal was identified.
