BMKG Warns of 2.6-Metre Waves in Badung Strait

Benoa — The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has identified a potential wave height of 2.6 metres in the Badung Strait and urged people using the waters to exercise caution and follow directions from local authorities.

The BMKG forecast page lists the 2.6-metre potential and advises caution and compliance with local-authority directions. A BMKG marine forecast document states that its validity begins on Sept. 30, 2026, at 8 a.m. WITA.

Why the Badung Strait warning matters to visitors

The Badung Strait lies off Bali’s southern coast and is used by vessels and other marine operators serving destinations around the island. A forecasted wave height of 2.6 metres describes the possible sea condition in the waters, not a closure of beaches, ports or tourism facilities. The warning is therefore relevant to people whose plans involve boating or other activity on the water.

The forecast does not state that all travel in Badung or Benoa is suspended. It identifies a marine risk and directs users to follow local authorities’ instructions.
