Bali Ranked Third in Agoda’s 2026 Asia Repeat-Visitor Index

Denpasar — Bali has been ranked third among Asia’s most revisited destinations in digital travel platform Agoda’s 2026 Repeat Visitor Ranking, based on accommodation bookings in the first half of 2026, according to multiple media reports.

Tokyo took first place and Bangkok second, with Bali entering the top three for the first time. The island was followed by Seoul in fourth and Osaka in fifth, while Da Nang, Kuala Lumpur, Fukuoka, Taipei and Johor Bahru completed the top ten.

Coverage of the ranking describes it as measuring how often travellers return to destinations, using booking data rather than overall visitor volumes. The reports state that the list is based on accommodation bookings made on Agoda during the first half of 2026, compared with the same period a year earlier.

According to a September 2026 report citing data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS) Bali, the island recorded 697,809 foreign tourist arrivals in July 2026, an increase of 15.34 percent compared with June. The same report notes that almost all of these visitors arrived via I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport.

These arrival figures and Agoda’s repeat-trip ranking describe separate aspects of Bali’s tourism performance. Arrival data reflects the volume of foreign visitors entering the island, while the repeat ranking highlights destinations where travellers are most likely to book accommodation again.

Indonesia’s other destinations in the list

Reports on Agoda’s 2026 Repeat Visitor Ranking indicate that several other Indonesian destinations also feature in the wider list beyond the top ten. Coverage cites Jakarta, Batam and Lombok among the Indonesian locations included. Lombok is described as having moved up several spots, with its appeal linked to natural attractions and ongoing development in designated tourism areas such as Mandalika.
