Mengwi — Perumda Air Minum Tirta Mangutama said on 21 October 2026 that it was working to maintain drinking-water supplies as a prolonged dry spell reduced spring and river flows in Badung. The statement was made during a public-service discussion at the company’s office in Kapal, Mengwi.

Why it matters: Residents and businesses in Badung, especially the south, face pressure on drinking-water supplies while the regional water company operates with lower raw-water flows.

The company said southern Badung had repeatedly experienced shortages that left some residents relying on water tanker deliveries. Director I Wayan Suyasa attributed the decline in raw-water availability to the extended dry conditions and said upstream environmental damage could also affect supplies reaching downstream areas.

Perumda Tirta Mangutama said it was maximising the water sources still available so its treatment plants could continue operating despite lower flows. It was also exploring potential new sources to strengthen raw-water availability over the longer term.

The company linked the challenge to rising water demand associated with population growth, economic activity and tourism development, particularly in southern Badung. It said water management needed to balance household needs, business activity and public services.

The report was published on 22 October 2026 by Bali Post. A Perumda Tirta Mangutama listing dated 22 October also confirms that the company held a sarasehan on public services focused on challenges facing drinking-water provision in Badung.
