Denpasar — PT Mitra Adiperkasa Tbk (MAP) has opened Imaginaria by Digimap on Sunset Road in Seminyak, positioning the new Apple Premium Partner flagship as an experiential destination that combines technology, Indonesian creativity and Balinese cultural references.
The Bali outlet is described by MAP and Digimap as the largest Apple Premium Partner store in Southeast Asia, spanning two full floors in a building of around 3,300 square metres on a 3,300-square-metre site. According to NOW! Bali, it is also Digimap’s largest store in Indonesia.
Located at Jl. Sunset Road No. 9, Seminyak, the store focuses on Apple’s core product lines — including iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and AirPods — within a space designed to encourage visitors to spend time exploring installations and artworks rather than treating the venue as a conventional electronics shop.
Imaginaria by Digimap operates daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., according to the NOW! Bali feature.
Experience-led flagship on Sunset Road
MAP presents Imaginaria as a flagship Apple Premium Partner built around customer experience, blending Apple technology with Indonesian art, Balinese philosophy and lifestyle storytelling. Company communications and coverage in local media highlight the store’s role as a destination where digital devices are integrated into curated spaces, photo spots and immersive zones.
The central design concept references the Balinese philosophy of Sekala Niskala, the “seen and unseen,” which MAP links to harmony between tradition and innovation. This theme is expressed through a stone engraving and other design elements that seek to connect local culture with contemporary technology.
Within the store, visitors encounter digital art collaborations with Indonesian designers presented on screens and Apple devices, alongside curated Imaginaria-branded merchandise and souvenirs tied specifically to the Bali location. The format positions the outlet as a hybrid of Apple product showroom, lifestyle retailer and cultural space for both residents and visitors.
Merchandise and artistic collaborations
As part of the grand opening, MAP introduced an exclusive collection under the banner “From Bali, for the Curious Mind.” The collection was developed in collaboration with Indonesian artists Monez and Muklay and includes items such as T-shirts, tote bags and AirPods cases that draw on Balinese visual and philosophical motifs.
MAP and Digimap describe the merchandise as exclusive to Imaginaria in Bali, positioning it as part of the store’s differentiation from other Digimap outlets in Indonesia. This emphasis on site-specific products aligns with the broader strategy of making the flagship a place-based concept linked to Bali’s creative ecosystem and cultural identity.
Implications for Bali’s retail landscape
By combining an extensive Apple product range with cultural storytelling and Indonesian art, Imaginaria by Digimap reflects a wider trend toward experience-led retail in Bali, where shopping venues compete with hospitality, dining and cultural attractions for visitor attention. The large-format, standalone building with integrated parking and multi-storey installations is intended to make the store a stop on itineraries for technology enthusiasts and tourists alike.
MAP positions the Bali flagship as a statement in its Apple retail journey, signalling an effort to anchor global technology brands in local creative contexts. Company communications emphasise that Imaginaria is currently the only Digimap store designed in this cultural-technological format, underlining its role as a showcase for how retail, culture and experience can be combined at scale.
