PLN Prepares 4 MW Power Back-Up for Mandalika MotoGP 2026
PLN said it has prepared 4 MW of dedicated power for the Mandalika circuit and will deploy 112 personnel, while the Lombok system has 412 MW of supply capacity and 79 MW of reserve margin.

Mandalika — PT PLN (Persero) said it has prepared 4 megawatts of generating capacity specifically for the Mandalika circuit as part of a layered electricity-supply plan for the 2026 MotoGP event in Lombok, according to a report published on Sept. 10, 2026.
The readiness effort is being handled by PLN Unit Induk Pembangkitan (UIK) Dwipantara, which said it is checking the condition of generating assets supporting the Lombok power system as well as equipment positioned at the circuit, CNBC Indonesia reported.
PLN said the dedicated supply is meant to reinforce reliability during the race period. The report did not specify whether the 4 MW allocation consists of diesel generators, gas-fired units, mobile equipment or another configuration.
System capacity and staffing
PLN said the Lombok electricity system has 412 MW of available supply capacity, with a reserve margin of 79 MW, and described that position as sufficient for the island system, according to CNBC Indonesia.
The company also said it would deploy 112 personnel to support operational monitoring, control and rapid response during the MotoGP readiness period.
PLN UIK Dwipantara General Manager Rita Triani said the company was treating the race as an international event that requires operational, maintenance and staffing preparations, while also maintaining reliable electricity services for Lombok residents, according to the report.
Event schedule
The 2026 Indonesian motorcycle grand prix at Mandalika is listed for Oct. 9-11, 2026 on the official MotoGP Indonesia ticketing site and on the Mandalika circuit’s official website.
PLN’s announcement came as organizers and stakeholders step up preparations for the event, which is expected to draw a large international audience to Central Lombok.
