Tabanan — A Dutch national identified as SK was deported through I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on Oct. 2, 2026, after immigration authorities found the person had overstayed in Bali for 398 days.

The case began with a public report about SK’s presence in Banjar Bedha, Bongan Village, Tabanan. Officers from the Class III Non-TPI Tabanan Immigration Office then conducted an independent operation and found that SK’s stay permit had expired on April 29, 2025.

Reports said SK had twice missed flights after falling asleep and had been negligent in handling immigration documents. Those circumstances did not remove the obligation to comply with Indonesia’s immigration rules. The reported deportation was accompanied by an entry ban under administrative immigration measures.

Why it matters to foreign residents and visitors

For foreigners in Indonesia, an expired stay permit can lead to enforcement action even when the overstay resulted from missed travel or other personal circumstances. In this case, the immigration office applied deportation and an entry ban under Article 78(3) of Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration, as amended by Law No. 63 of 2024.

The case also shows how local reports can prompt immigration checks. SK was located in Banjar Bedha, Desa Bongan, Kecamatan Tabanan, after residents reported the person’s presence. The subsequent examination established both the permit-expiry date and the length of the overstay.

Immigration authorities said the action formed part of supervision and enforcement against foreign nationals who violate immigration rules. The deportation took place through I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Badung, Bali.
