GianyarTirta Empul remained the most visited attraction in Gianyar through the end of August 2026, with 553,253 visits, according to local reporting and a separate article summarizing the same figures.

The Ubud Monkey Forest ranked second with 408,264 visits, followed by Bali Safari Marine Park with 338,470 and Tegenungan Waterfall with 218,850, based on the figures published by local media in early September. Kanto Lampo Waterfall also drew strong traffic, with 171,933 visits in the January-August period.

Gianyar tourism officials have said Tirta Empul and Goa Gajah remain the regency’s main revenue drivers, and that overall tourist visits to attractions managed by the local government rose to 1,569,576 in 2025 from 1,249,214 in 2023, according to another report published this month. The same reporting said the regency was targeting 95 billion rupiah in tourism revenue in 2026.

Tirta Empul is a Hindu temple complex in Tampaksiring known for its sacred spring and for melukat, a Balinese purification ritual that draws both domestic and foreign visitors.

Top Gianyar attractions

The published rankings place a mix of site types near the top of Gianyar’s visitor list, including a temple, a wildlife attraction and waterfalls. That combination underscores how the regency’s tourism economy spans cultural, nature-based and commercial destinations.

  • Tirta Empul: 553,253 visits
  • Ubud Monkey Forest: 408,264
  • Bali Safari Marine Park: 338,470
  • Tegenungan Waterfall: 218,850
  • Kanto Lampo Waterfall: 171,933

The figures indicate where demand is concentrated, but they do not identify whether the counts reflect gate entries, ticket sales or another method. They also show how quickly one attraction can dominate a regency’s tourism profile, especially when several sites are commonly packaged together in day tours.

For Tirta Empul, the numbers are especially significant because the site is both a working temple and a major tourist stop. That makes visitor management central to preserving the balance between worship, ritual use and commercial tourism.

Gianyar’s tourism office has separately said the regency aims to continue lifting revenue in 2026, with Tirta Empul and Goa Gajah described as its strongest earners. The latest visitor totals suggest that cultural heritage remains one of Gianyar’s most powerful draws.
