Bali’s economy is growing, and official data points to transport, accommodation and food services, trade, and construction as important sources of new employment. The latest Bank Indonesia provincial report says Bali’s economy grew 5.82% year on year in 2025, while BPS reported labour-force conditions for August 2025.
How fast did Bali’s economy grow?
Bank Indonesia reported that Bali’s economy grew 5.82% year on year in 2025, up from 5.48% in 2024, in its February 2026 provincial economic report.
The same report said the economy grew 5.86% year on year in the fourth quarter of 2025, compared with 5.88% in the previous quarter.
Which sectors are creating jobs?
Bank Indonesia said the largest increases in employment were recorded in transport, accommodation and food services, trade, and construction. These sectors connect tourism demand with wider business activity, including mobility, hospitality, retail and building work.
The report also said Bali’s open unemployment rate had improved consistently from February 2021 through November 2025, alongside new jobs in several business sectors.
What does the latest labour data cover?
BPS-Statistics Indonesia published its Labour Force Situation in Bali Province for August 2025 on November 5, 2025. The release provides the official labour-market reference for that survey period, while Bank Indonesia’s report interprets the employment trend through the province’s economic performance.
What does this mean for investors and employers?
The official picture links Bali’s expansion to several sectors rather than to a single activity. For businesses, the clearest employment signal is the concentration of job creation in transport, accommodation and food services, trade, and construction, according to Bank Indonesia.
Economic growth alone does not identify the profitability of an individual project or guarantee future hiring. It does, however, show which broad business activities were associated with the strongest additions to employment in the latest provincial assessment.
