Bali’s economy grew 5.82% in 2025, but investment remains heavily concentrated in tourism and in the island’s southern growth corridor. For businesses and investors, the figures point to an economy expanding beyond its pandemic recovery while retaining a strong geographic and sectoral dependence, according to Bank Indonesia and the Bali provincial government.
How fast did Bali’s economy grow?
Bali’s economy grew 5.82% year on year in 2025, compared with 5.48% in 2024, according to Bank Indonesia’s Bali Economic Report published in 2026. In the fourth quarter of 2025, growth reached 5.86% year on year, Bank Indonesia said.
The provincial government’s 2025 performance report also records 5.82% growth for the full year. It reports fourth-quarter gross regional domestic product of Rp85.05 trillion at current prices and Rp46.40 trillion at constant 2010 prices.
Where is investment concentrated?
Tourism and other tertiary activities accounted for 92.85% of Bali’s investment, according to the Bali Development Planning Agency in 2025. Primary-sector investment accounted for 2.55%, while the secondary sector accounted for 4.60%.
The same provincial analysis said 89.74% of investment was concentrated in Sarbagita—Denpasar, Badung, Gianyar and Tabanan—the southern area that contains much of Bali’s established tourism economy.
What does this mean for businesses?
The figures describe a market with solid aggregate growth but uneven distribution. Businesses linked to tourism operate within the largest investment segment, while the smaller shares recorded for primary and secondary activities show that diversification remains a distinct part of Bali’s economic-policy challenge, according to the provincial analysis.
For investors, location is also material: the provincial government’s 89.74% figure indicates that investment activity is not spread evenly across Bali’s regencies. It is a measure of investment concentration, not a forecast of returns or a guarantee for any individual project.
Why does the growth figure matter?
The increase from 5.48% in 2024 to 5.82% in 2025 provides an official measure of stronger annual expansion. Bank Indonesia’s report also says fourth-quarter 2025 growth was 5.86% year on year, placing the latest full-year result in the context of continued quarterly expansion.
These statistics are useful for reading Bali’s business environment at island level, but they do not by themselves show profitability, employment outcomes, land availability, licensing requirements or project-level risk.
