Kuta — Traffic heading to the Bali Bombing Memorial, also known as Ground Zero, on Jalan Raya Legian was diverted on Monday, Oct. 12, 2026, as Badung authorities supported an afternoon Peace Prayer.

The diversion was scheduled from 16:00 to 20:00 WITA (UTC+8) around the memorial in Legian, Kuta, Badung. The Badung Transportation Agency, working with police, announced changes at four junctions: Legian–Patih Jelantik, Patimura–Legian, Patimura–Majapahit and Benesari–Legian.

Why It Matters for Visitors and Residents

For foreign visitors, the rule meant that vehicles approaching Ground Zero could not continue along the affected approach roads during the stated period. Traffic officers directed vehicles entering Jalan Patih Jelantik to turn right, while nearby roads including Jalan Sriwijaya, Jalan Majapahit, Gang Lestari and connecting streets remained available as alternative routes, according to the report.

The annual Peace Prayer commemorated the Bali Bombing tragedy. The wider 24th-anniversary observance at Ground Zero was organized with the Badung regency government and community groups, with the main prayer program scheduled to begin at 17:00 WITA and conclude at about 20:00 WITA. Survivors, victims’ families, government representatives and community organizations were expected to attend.

Police and the Badung Transportation Agency helped manage traffic around the memorial. The Kuta Community Empowerment Institution prepared about 20 personnel to assist with security and traffic control. Road users were urged to follow signs and officers’ directions during the diversion.
