Mangupura — Badung’s education authority said schools in the regency would resume face-to-face classes on Monday, 19 October 2026, after a temporary online-learning arrangement ended.
Why it matters: Schools serving early-childhood, elementary and junior high students in Badung were scheduled to return to classroom teaching from 19 October 2026.
The Badung Education, Youth and Sports Agency said on Sunday, 18 October, that it had not received an official instruction extending online learning. The agency therefore told schools to follow the regular education schedule and calendar.
The temporary measure covered early-childhood education, elementary schools and junior high schools under Badung Regency’s authority. NusaBali reported that the online arrangement was set for 15 and 16 October, while Detik Bali reported a three-day period from 15 to 17 October.
The move followed fuel-supply disruption and long queues at filling stations across Bali. Bali Governor Wayan Koster had ordered online learning and remote work during 15-17 October to help reduce travel and ease fuel distribution, according to France 24 and the Jakarta Globe.
Badung agency head I Gusti Made Dwipayana said any new government direction would be passed on to schools. The resumption applied to the regency’s education units from Monday, 19 October.
