Denpasar — Bali’s Regional Disaster Management Agency said on Oct. 7 that the island was still in the dry season during the first 10 days of October 2026, with an early warning for meteorological drought in Bali.
The update described generally dry conditions across the province. It also identified the first 10 days of October as a period requiring public vigilance and stronger disaster-risk reduction efforts. The agency forecast limited light rain in parts of Tabanan, Jembrana, Buleleng and Karangasem from Oct. 1 to Oct. 3, while the period from Oct. 7 to Oct. 10 was generally expected to be partly cloudy, with possible light rain in Tabanan and Buleleng.
Why the October warning matters in Bali
For residents and visitors, the notice means that dry-season conditions remained in place across Bali even as October began. The warning was about meteorological drought, a classification based on rainfall conditions, rather than a declaration that every community was already experiencing a water emergency.
The Bali agency’s notice also said there was no early warning for high rainfall during the period. That combination—continued dry conditions, a drought warning and no high-rainfall warning—places the update in the context of an island still transitioning toward wetter weather.
The agency’s weather outlook was regional rather than uniform. Some areas could receive light rain, but those forecasts did not end the broader dry-season period described in the update. The agency also emphasized preparedness and disaster-risk reduction as October continued.
