Lombok — PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk trained 500 participants to manage waste at the Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in Central Lombok on Oct. 6, ahead of the Indonesian MotoGP from Oct. 9 to 11, 2026.

The program, run through BRI Peduli’s “Yok Kita Gas” initiative, combined instruction on waste collection and processing with practical preparation for race-day operations. Participants were taught venue-cleanliness standards, workplace safety, waste sorting at the source and visitor service, including how to respond to spills when the circuit is crowded.

The 500 participants comprised 143 cleaning-service staff, 206 waste-management staff, 101 BRI volunteers drawn from students and local residents, and 50 waste-sorters. Training also covered the separation of organic waste, valuable inorganic waste and residual waste, as well as the route from collection to processing facilities.

Why the Mandalika training matters to visitors

For spectators and other visitors, the program means waste management is being built into the operation of an international sporting event rather than treated solely as a cleanup after the crowds leave. The training addresses both the handling of waste and the public-facing work of keeping the venue orderly and serving visitors.

The initiative was presented as an environmental and social-responsibility program linked to MotoGP Mandalika. BRI said it was carried out with partners and communities from nearby villages and urban wards, while the training included equipment support for waste processing. The work is intended to support a cleaner and more sustainable Mandalika during the event.

The race was scheduled for Oct. 9–11, 2026. Reports said the trained teams would support waste management at the circuit during the event.
