Denpasar — Bali Governor Wayan Koster on Monday, 12 October 2026, summoned Pertamina Patra Niaga and the Bali chapter of the Indonesian National Association of Oil and Gas Entrepreneurs to address fuel-distribution problems that had caused queues at petrol stations across the island.

Why it matters: Motorists in Denpasar, Badung and Tabanan faced queues while Pertamina increased deliveries and 92 stations in Denpasar and Badung prepared to operate around the clock.

Queues were reported in Denpasar, Badung and Tabanan on Tuesday, 13 October, as supplies of Pertalite and Pertamax became difficult to obtain at some stations. Bali Post reported that the disruption affected residents’ daily activities.

Pertamina said the problem was linked to distribution delays and increased demand. The company said Pertalite consumption in Bali averaged about 2,200 kilolitres a day, while Governor Koster said fuel was available at the Manggis and Sanggaran depots but was taking time to reach stations.

Pertamina Patra Niaga said a tanker carrying 18,000 kilolitres of Pertalite and 2,500 kilolitres of Pertamax had arrived on 12 October. Further tanker arrivals were scheduled for 14 and 16 October through the Sanggaran and Manggis fuel terminals, with total scheduled cargo of 26,200 kilolitres.

Koster said distribution to petrol stations had begun on 12 October and that supplies were expected to return to normal within one to two days, depending on the movement of fuel from the depots.

Separately, Pertamina announced that 92 petrol stations in Denpasar and Badung would operate around the clock from the night of 13 October to help serve motorists during the disruption. DetikBali reported that the first additional supply had already arrived, with further deliveries planned for 15, 16 and 17 October.
