Denpasar — Denpasar’s Transportation Agency plans temporary traffic diversions and intermittent road closures on several streets from Monday, 7 September to Friday, 11 September 2026, to support the Karya Angasti Puja Atma Wedana Meligya Punggel Utama Ring Puri Agung Gelogor ceremonies, according to the agency’s patrol division as reported by detikBali. The main arrangements will affect roads around Jalan Bukit Tunggal, Jalan Hasanudin, Jalan Gunung Batur and nearby streets.

The traffic measures will vary over the five-day period. On 7 September, officers will enforce intermittent closures, or buka-tutup controls, starting at 07:00 WITA during the ngangget don bingin or metatah ceremony in the Puri Agung Gelogor area, according to Denpasar’s Transportation Agency patrol chief I Gede Eka Prajna Priantara. A further period of monitoring and traffic management is scheduled from 14:00 to 18:00 WITA the same day around Pura Tambang Badung and along the procession route.

September 7 procession route

According to the agency’s traffic plan outlined to local media, the outbound procession on 7 September will start from Jalan Bukit Tunggal, move north along Jalan Hasanudin and continue to Pura Tambang Badung on Jalan Gunung Batur. The return procession will travel from Jalan Gunung Batur toward the Pemecutan intersection on Jalan Imam Bonjol, then south via Jalan Penulisan before heading back to Jalan Bukit Tunggal.

Officers are expected to focus their attention on several key points along the route. According to the patrol division, priority monitoring and possible diversions will be applied at the Jalan Hasanudin–Jalan Bukit Tunggal intersection, the western side of Jalan Tambora, the western side of Jalan Penulisan, and the eastern side of Jalan Gunung Kerinci near the motorbike area by Jalan Pulau Buru. Road users are being asked to follow instructions from traffic personnel and use alternative routes where necessary.

Parking and September 11 controls

The Transportation Agency has also identified parking areas to support the ceremonies and reduce congestion. Designated locations include the southern side of Jalan Gunung Kerinci, Jalan Penulisan, Jalan Bukit Tunggal, the southern side of Hotel Darmadi and Terminal Tegal in Pemecutan, Denpasar, according to the traffic plan shared with local media.

The mapurwa daksina ceremony is scheduled to take place primarily inside the Puri Agung Gelogor complex, but traffic controls will still be implemented in the surrounding streets as a precaution, according to the same agency official. On Friday, 11 September 2026, the mapurwa daksina activities are set for 06:00–12:00 WITA, with temporary closures on Jalan Penulisan and Jalan Bukit Tunggal during that period.

Key timing and route data:

  • Overall period: Monday, 7 September to Friday, 11 September 2026, linked to the Karya Angasti Puja Atma Wedana Meligya Punggel Utama Ring Puri Agung Gelogor ceremonies.
  • 7 September: Buka-tutup traffic management begins at 07:00 WITA for the ngangget don bingin/metatah ceremony, with additional monitoring and controls from 14:00 to 18:00 WITA along the procession route to and from Pura Tambang Badung.
  • 11 September: Temporary closures are planned on Jalan Penulisan and Jalan Bukit Tunggal from 06:00 to 12:00 WITA during the mapurwa daksina ceremony.

Context

The traffic arrangements are part of a wider collaboration between Denpasar’s Transportation Agency and other local authorities to facilitate religious ceremonies while maintaining safety and traffic flow. The Karya Angasti Puja Atma Wedana Meligya Punggel Utama series at Puri Agung Gelogor includes processions linking the puri area with Pura Tambang Badung and activities within the puri complex itself, requiring targeted controls on several nearby streets.

Road users in Denpasar are advised to anticipate delays around the affected roads during the specified dates and to plan alternative routes where possible.
