Buleleng — Indonesia has officially changed the names of 32 immigration offices, including five serving Bali and the Nusa Tenggara region, under a restructuring that took effect on Oct. 5, 2026. The Singaraja office is now the Kantor Imigrasi Kelas II TPI Buleleng.
The change comes as the Directorate General of Immigration, the Indonesian government body responsible for immigration services, reorganizes office nomenclature and adjusts the names of offices to reflect the areas they serve. The restructuring was approved through a June 30, 2026 letter from the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform and formalized in a 2026 decision by the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections.
For foreign residents and visitors, the change is primarily administrative. Immigration services continue under the same offices, but the updated names matter when searching for an office online or selecting an office in the M-Paspor application for passport services. The change does not state that existing immigration permissions, visas or residence documents have been altered.
Five Bali-Nusra offices now use updated names
In Bali and Nusa Tenggara, the former Kantor Imigrasi Kelas II TPI Singaraja is now Kantor Imigrasi Kelas II TPI Buleleng. The Sumbawa Besar office is now Kantor Imigrasi Kelas II TPI Sumbawa; the Maumere office is now Kantor Imigrasi Kelas II TPI Sikka; the Atambua office is now Kantor Imigrasi Kelas II TPI Belu; and the Labuan Bajo office is now Kantor Imigrasi Kelas II TPI Manggarai Barat.
The five offices are part of 32 immigration offices nationwide whose nomenclature was changed. A separate adjustment affected the institutional typology of 14 other immigration offices, according to the reports. The reports attribute the effective date to the ministerial decision dated 2026.
The reports say the updated names are intended to describe each office’s service area more precisely. They also state that people arranging passports should use the latest office names when registering through M-Paspor or searching online.
