Mandalika Festival of Speed completes third round at Lombok circuit

Lombok — The Mandalika Festival of Speed (MFoS) completed its third round at Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, with race activities held over the weekend of 15–16 August 2026, following practice and preparation sessions that began on 14 August, according to the circuit operator and event organisers.

In an announcement dated 18 August 2026, the Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA), which operates the circuit and promotes the event, described the third MFoS round as strengthening the ecosystem for national car racing in Indonesia. The meeting formed part of a four-round fan-focused racing festival on MGPA’s 2026 calendar.

MGPA’s 2026 event calendar lists MFoS Round 3 for 14–16 August and identifies the festival as combining national touring car competition with one-make series and time-attack activities at the Mandalika circuit. A press release from Indonesia Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC), the state-owned developer behind The Mandalika resort area, confirms that the third round of MFoS at Mandalika hosted national four-wheel racing from 14 to 16 August 2026.

National touring car championship featured

According to ITDC and MGPA, one of the main programmes during the third MFoS round was the 2026 Indonesian Touring Car Race (ITCR) National Championship. ITDC reports that the weekend attracted 103 starters across its combined race categories. MGPA’s coverage of Race 1 on 15 August details results in ITCR 1200 and ITCR 1500, along with other touring and sports car classes contested at the circuit that day.

ITDC’s statement and MGPA’s calendar note that six principal racing classes appeared on the programme: ITCR 1200, ITCR 1500, ISTCR 3600, Superstars Sportcar Series, KRIDA Agya One Make Race, Subaru BRZ Super Series and Time Attack. Time Attack sessions formed part of the Saturday running, with MGPA reporting that drivers competed for the fastest lap times in Radical SR1 and SR3 machinery in one of the time-attack categories.

Team and manufacturer communications indicate active participation from established national outfits. Honda Racing Indonesia reported podium finishes in ITCR 1200 and double victories in ISTCR at the third MFoS round, held at Mandalika on 15–16 August, highlighting the event’s role in the 2026 touring car season.

Three-day programme, free public access

ITDC states that the MFoS Round 3 schedule began on Friday, 14 August, with practice, time-attack sessions and participant preparation, continued on Saturday, 15 August, with qualifying, Superpole and the first set of races, and concluded on Sunday, 16 August, with second qualifying, Superpole, a pit walk, opening ceremony and Race 2. MGPA’s race reports for 15 and 16 August corroborate that core racing was held on the Saturday and Sunday.

According to ITDC, spectators were able to attend the third MFoS round free of charge, with the organiser positioning open access as part of its strategy to bring motorsport closer to the public and expand the fan base for car racing in Indonesia. National radio network RRI, in its motorsport coverage, also links the completion of the third MFoS round to increasing activity by national racing series at Mandalika, noting the circuit’s growing role in domestic four-wheel competition.

Part of a broader Mandalika racing calendar

MFoS is one of several four-wheel motorsport events scheduled at Pertamina Mandalika International Circuit in 2026. MGPA’s published calendar lists four MFoS rounds between May and October, combining the ITCR national championship, one-make series and time-attack sessions with fan-engagement activities such as pit walks.

The 2026 calendar also includes Formula IDN alongside MFoS and other car racing programmes, reflecting an effort to diversify the circuit’s use beyond its headline international motorcycle events.
