Lombok — Mandalika’s reported room capacity rose from 3,000 rooms in 2025 to 5,000 during the 2026 MotoGP, while attendance reached 157,875.

The change comes as the international race continues to draw larger crowds to Central Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara. The 2026 event ran from Oct. 9 to Oct. 11, with attendance reported at 157,875 spectators over three days. That exceeded the 140,324 recorded in 2025, an increase of 12.5 percent.

The figures point to a wider accommodation footprint around the Mandalika tourism area. More rooms give visitors additional lodging capacity during the race period, while hotels elsewhere in Lombok also absorb demand when accommodation close to the circuit is limited.

Why Mandalika’s 5,000 rooms matter to visitors

For foreign visitors, the increase means the choice of places to stay around the event is broader than it was in 2025, although the reported capacity is an area-wide figure rather than a guarantee of availability at any particular hotel. The event’s attendance total includes spectators across the three-day program, not only those present on the race day.

Attendance built through the weekend: 39,510 spectators were recorded on Friday, 53,296 on Saturday and 65,069 on Sunday. The Sunday figure was the highest of the three days.

The 2026 total was also the highest reported since MotoGP began at Mandalika in 2022. The increase in room capacity and attendance places accommodation and visitor demand at the center of the event’s continuing tourism impact in Lombok.
