Mobile SIM renewal units operating today in Badung and Klungkung

Badung and Klungkung — Police in Badung and Klungkung are operating mobile driver’s license (SIM) renewal services today, bringing mobile counters to public locations to make it easier for residents to extend their licences.

According to Balipost, mobile SIM renewal units are scheduled in Badung and Klungkung on 21 September 2026, serving holders of SIM A (private cars) and SIM C (motorcycles) whose licences are still valid on the day of renewal.

In Badung, the mobile service is being run by the Badung police traffic unit at two locations: the firefighting station in Dalung, east of Dalung Market, and the public service mall at the Badung regency government centre (Mall Pelayanan Publik Puspem Badung).

JPNN Bali reports that today’s Badung services are operating from around 8:00 a.m. Central Indonesia Time, continuing into the early afternoon.

In Klungkung, the mobile counters are positioned in front of the Klungkung Regent’s office in Semarapura and at the auxiliary vehicle tax office (Kantor Samsat Pembantu) on Nusa Penida island, providing access for residents on the mainland and offshore islands.

Based on schedules published by JPNN Bali and earlier daily advisories from Balipost, Klungkung’s mobile services on comparable September dates typically run from about 9:00 a.m. to midday, with a similar window expected for today’s operations.

The mobile units are an extension of the standard licence services at the main police traffic administration offices (Satpas) in each regency, and are intended to reduce waiting times and travel costs for residents needing routine renewals.

For both Badung and Klungkung, the mobile counters are limited to renewals rather than new licence applications. People whose SIM A or SIM C has expired are directed to apply at the regular police licensing office instead of using the mobile units.

Balipost’s previous advisories for mid-September note that applicants are required to bring an electronic ID card (e-KTP), their current SIM that is still valid, photocopies of both documents, and a health and psychological certificate issued by authorised providers.

The health and psychological certificates are part of national requirements set by the Indonesian National Police for driving licence issuance and renewal, with on-site checks sometimes available at or near the mobile locations depending on the local arrangements.

While Balipost’s earlier notices do not list the exact fee amounts charged at the mobile counters, the licence renewal tariffs are generally determined nationally under government regulations on non-tax state revenue, and the mobile services apply the same official charges as the main police licensing offices.

Residents are advised to arrive early to avoid queues and to ensure that all required documents are complete, as incomplete paperwork may result in delays or the need to return to the main licensing office.
