Denpasar — Ngurah Rai Immigration recorded 4.7 million foreign nationals arriving in Bali through I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport from January through August 2026, with Australian passport holders the largest group at 1.1 million arrivals.

The figures, reported Sept. 30, come from immigration data covering the first eight months of the year. The airport handled 15.5 million passengers through August, according to the report, while the foreign-arrival count accounted for the largest recorded nationality group from Australia.

Why the arrivals figure matters to Bali visitors

For foreign visitors, the data describes the scale of international movement through Bali’s main air gateway rather than a separate visa or entry rule. The count refers to foreign nationals arriving through the airport and identifies Australian passport holders as the leading nationality group.

An earlier report on the same airport recorded about 4 million foreign tourist arrivals from January through July 2026, with Australia contributing about 1 million arrivals. The later January-to-August figure therefore covers an additional month and uses the updated immigration total reported by Ngurah Rai Immigration.

The reported figures do not state a new entry requirement, airport closure or other change affecting foreign residents or visitors. They provide an update on Bali’s international arrival volume and the nationalities most represented in the airport’s immigration records.
