Why it matters: Worshippers and visitors travelling between Bangli, Klungkung and Karangasem encounter a scheduled religious procession from 7 to 9 October 2026.
The procession forms part of the Tawur Agung Manca Wali Krama, a religious ceremony held every 10 years at Pura Hulundanu Batur. Participants were scheduled to spend the night at Pura Besakih before returning to Pura Hulundanu Batur on Thursday, 8 October.
The full ceremony was scheduled to conclude on Friday, 9 October, after the return procession. NusaBali reported that the ritual series had run for 25 days and involved the customary community of Desa Adat Songan.
Minister of Tourism Widiyanti Putri Wardhana attended a related ceremony at Pura Hulundanu Batur on Tuesday, 6 October. Bali Post reported that she praised the community’s cooperation in maintaining the ten-year religious tradition.
The route connects religious sites in Bangli, Klungkung and Karangasem. The procession’s movement between regencies is relevant to visitors travelling to the temples during the closing stages of the ceremony.
