Bandung — — Super Air Jet is moving ahead with a significant domestic expansion from Bandung, adding a direct Bandung–Bali service as part of six new routes linking West Java’s capital with major cities across Indonesia.
The carrier’s northern winter 2026/27 programme and schedule filings show new services from Bandung to Denpasar, Medan Kualanamu, Balikpapan, Pekanbaru, Makassar and Pontianak using Airbus A320 aircraft, with flights introduced in stages from late September and then operated more regularly from late October, according to industry schedule trackers and travel trade reporting.
Bandung–Bali service details
Super Air Jet’s Bandung–Bali route connects Husein Sastranegara Airport (BDO) in Bandung with I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) in Denpasar.
Schedule filings indicate that the Bandung–Denpasar service operates three times weekly from 25 October 2026 on Airbus A320 aircraft, forming part of the airline’s northern winter 2026/27 network additions from Bandung.
Earlier schedule data and travel industry analysis also note that these Bandung routes, including the Bali link, are operated in the second half of September 2026, with launch dates clustered around 18–22 September 2026.
Separately, Indonesian travel news coverage reports that Super Air Jet begins direct flights from Husein Sastranegara to Bali, Medan, Pekanbaru, Makassar, Pontianak and Balikpapan in September, with the Bandung–Bali service among the routes starting operations from 18 September 2026.
Six-route expansion from Bandung
According to aviation route specialists, Super Air Jet’s northern winter schedule adds six routes from Bandung on A320 aircraft:
- Bandung–Denpasar (Bali)
- Bandung–Medan (Kualanamu)
- Bandung–Balikpapan
- Bandung–Pekanbaru
- Bandung–Makassar
- Bandung–Pontianak
The same six destinations are cited by regional economic coverage quoting the general manager of Husein Sastranegara Airport, who states that Super Air Jet has been planned to serve routes from Bandung to Kualanamu, Pekanbaru, Makassar (Ujung Pandang), Pontianak, Denpasar and Balikpapan.
Industry trade reporting framed the move as part of a broader surge in Indonesian aviation, with Bandung positioned as a growing domestic hub connecting West Java with key business and tourism markets, including Bali.
Significance for Bali and West Java
The new Bandung–Bali link adds another non-Jakarta option for travellers moving between West Java and Bali, reducing reliance on connections through Soekarno-Hatta and supporting Bali’s domestic tourism pipeline.
Airport authorities in Bandung have highlighted the additional routes as an expansion of connectivity from Husein Sastranegara following its reopening to general aviation and scheduled commercial services.
For Bali, the direct Bandung connection contributes to a wider mix of domestic feeders bringing visitors from regional Indonesian cities into Denpasar, alongside existing services from carriers such as Garuda Indonesia and Citilink.
Booking and operational notes
As with any new route rollout, travelers are advised to confirm the latest schedules, operating days and start dates directly with the airline or through official booking channels, as initial programme periods and frequencies may be adjusted after launch.
The available independent sources for these routes are based on airline schedule filings, airport statements and domestic travel news coverage; none provide full fare tables or detailed commercial performance data for the new Bandung–Bali and associated services.
