Bangli — Bangli Regency’s Environment Agency began adjusting its field operations for the transition from the dry season to the rainy season on November 1, 2026, focusing on urban drainage channels in Bangli.

Why it matters: Residents, visitors and businesses in urban Bangli may see drainage cleaning every two days and tree-risk monitoring as the rainy season approaches.

The agency’s Pro Kali Bersih, or Clean River Programme, team is deployed every two days to remove large waste that could block integrated drainage channels, according to Bali Post and Tribun Bali. The work targets areas including Catus Pata and Bangli Town Square, Jalan Nusantara, Bebalang and the Ngurah Rai corridor.

Environment Agency head Putu Ganda Wijaya said the seasonal shift changed the priority from activities such as watering parks and maintaining gardens to preventing standing water and flooding. The agency is also coordinating with the Regional Disaster Management Agency, the state electricity utility and other institutions over trees that could fall in strong winds.

Bali Post reported that earlier priority points at Catus Pata and Jalan Nusantara were being monitored after regular cleaning and repairs to culverts along Jalan Nusantara by local and provincial authorities. The report said those locations were free of flooding at the time of publication.

The agency also carries out routine pruning of branches extending over roads or near residential areas. Regular work is scheduled from Monday to Wednesday, emergency work on Friday and priority work on Thursday and Saturday, according to Bali Post.

Tribun Bali reported that regular waste collection begins at 5:30 a.m., with three-wheeled vehicles used to reach locations inaccessible to larger collection trucks. The agency has also prepared an emergency team for increased waste volumes and extreme-weather impacts.
